I’m an Egyptphile. I’ve written four novels about ancient Egypt. I enjoy being in Egypt, dining with some of the friendliest people, and visiting its ancient sites to unravel the stories they hide.
But one aspect of life in the Middle East that is not talked about enough is that of the smells of the marketplace. In particular, the incredible, alluring, delicious smell garlic; garlic being crushed, simmered, sautéed, squeezed fresh and raw over a tasty local dish.
So for this week’s Friday Creative, try your hand on a 50-250 word take on garlic. Choose any narrative, twist, poem, conversation, joke, what-have-you and leave it for us to read in the Comments below. Take the challenge. Write! I’m looking forward to it!
